Our mission is to be a catalyst for transformative change, grounded in unwavering commitment to social justice, decolonization, anti-racism, and liberation.
Our journey involves resistance against colonial powers and capitalism through the transformative practices of yoga, healing, rest, and creativity. We denounce racism, hate, and oppression in all their forms.
Sweet Rain Healing is dedicated to cultivating a vibrant and diverse community, where all can feel heard and represented. Our commitment to yoga, spirituality, and energetic healing means that our classes/workshops/etc. are anti-racist, trauma-informed, accessible offerings that honor, not appropriate, these sacred practices.
We hope to share our work with our community near and far, remembering that it only takes one drop to create many ripples of change.

Compassionate Ally, Yoga Guide, Bodyworker, Activist, & Director of Operations
Alexa started practicing yoga while attending college at Virginia Tech. She found it to be a transformative practice that offered her space to process stress through movement. After graduating with a degree in International Relations, she completed her 200 and 300 HR YTT at InBalance Yoga in Blacksburg and has been teaching since 2018. She is certified in the Barkan Method of Hot Yoga, Aerial Yoga, and Thai massage bodywork.
Alexa’s classes encourage intuitive movement through creative, accessible, and safely led sequencing. She incorporates breathwork, meditation, and lessons from yogic philosophy into her offerings. She believes in creating a fully inclusive and diverse yoga community to foster meaningful change on and off the mat.
In her free time Alexa enjoys hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains, watercolor painting, playing pinball, and spending time with her partner and their four cats. She is currently working towards a 200 HR YTT with Yoga Roots on Location, an anti-racist and social justice Raja yoga teacher training.
Testimonials
“I love Dawnbee’s classes and appreciate how she gets juicy/deep on the spiritual as well as the physical. I always am so grateful for how much thought she puts into themes, readings, and being receptive to her students. I think she is amazing, as always.”
— Teresa P.
“I know how truly special it is when I”m able to set the time out of my day to enjoy a restorative yoga experience with Dawnbee. I always feel like she puts such care into planning each flow so thoughtfully. The vulnerability and openness she shares reminds me to be more gentle and kind to myself. I am genuinely honored and thankful to be a part of it, and continue to feel encouraged by her after every unique class together.”
